Matt Reece
Matt is the Chief Financial Officer and Sr. Executive Vice President of Webcor. He is an integral member of Webcor’s board of directors and is responsible for Webcor’s financial health and growth. He’s accountable for the company’s administrative, financial, and risk management operations, including the continued development of financial and operational strategies and metrics and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. He’s ultimately responsible for Human Resources, Information Technology, and Project Controls functions. Matt also serves on the board of directors for Paramount Insurance, Webcor’s Captive.
Matthew Takamine
As executive managing director and captive practice leader with Brown & Brown, Mr. Takamine is responsible for the company’s captive management and consulting services, with over 20 years of experience working with captive insurance companies. He has served on the board of directors of the Hawaii Captive Insurance Council (HCIC) for 15 years, including multiple terms as president, board chairman and government relations liaison. Mr. Takamine has also been part of the Captive Association Leadership Council, representing captive associations across the United States and served a six-year term on the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) board of directors and continues to support the ICCIE as a member of its finance committee. Before joining Brown & Brown, he was a senior manager in KPMG’s Insurance and Financial Services practice. A graduate with distinction from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting, he was inducted into the University of Hawaii Shidler School of Business Hall of Fame in 2023. He is licensed to practice as a certified public accountant in the state of Hawaii and a member in good standing of the Hawaii Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
Jodie Fujio
Recently promoted to senior vice president, captive operations, with Brown & Brown, Mrs. Fujio has nearly 20 years of industry experience working with captive insurance companies, managing their day-to-day operations. Mrs. Fujio works closely with the Captive Insurance Division for the State of Hawaii’s Department of Insurance and other financial and legal insurance advisors to the Hawaiian captive industry. As lead on Webcor’s captive (Paramount Insurance), Mrs. Fujio works hand-in-hand with Webcor’s management, ensuring the captive’s long-term financial success. Before joining Brown & Brown, she was a senior auditor with KMH., a certified public accounting firm based in Honolulu. Mrs. Fujio is a graduate of the University of Hawaii and is licensed to practice as a certified public accountant in the state of Hawaii.
Paul Shimomoto
A Partner with Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel, Paul Shimomoto has been a leading expert in the Hawaii captive market for nearly 30 years, practicing in the areas of corporate and insurance regulatory law and currently serving as President of the Hawaiian Captive Insurance Council (HCIC). His captive and insurance regulatory clients include publicly-traded Fortune 500 and Global 500 companies from the U.S., Japan and Europe. Mr. Shimomoto has achieved the highest rating of “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell and has been consistently recognized as a “Top Rated Lawyer” in Insurance Law by the American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel Magazines, including being named to the prestigious Captive Review’s 2023 Power 50. In 2021, Paul was named Captive Service Professional of the Year at the Captive Review APAC Awards for his commitment to expanding the use and understanding of captive insurance for Japanese companies. Mr. Shimomoto is a graduate of the Creighton University School of Law and University of Denver. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Hawaii, District of Columbia, U.S. District Court District of Hawaii, U.S. Court of Appeals 9th Circuit, District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
